Recognition of prior learning (RPL) provides an opportunity to have your existing skills and knowledge converted (or assessed) for a nationally recognised qualification.

The benefits of RPL include:

saves you time because you don't repeat learning for skills and knowledge you already have
fast-tracking to complete a qualifications
improve employment and career opportunities
improve self-confidence and motivation
help you keep your skills current and meet licensing arrangements.

How Skills Recognition Works

Recognise-IT has developed a easy 4 step framework to guide you through the skills recognition process.

Step 1: Work Samples	Recognise-IT has identified a concise evidence lists to demonstrate your competency.
Step 2: Skills and Knowledge Assessment	Short questions and/or a telephone interview to assess your current skills and knowledge.
Step 3: Practical Exercises	Short workplace assignments to demonstrate your skills, knowledge and competency.
Step 4: Workplace Testimonials	Finally, referee checks and/or a workplace assessment.

Receiving a Qualification

Once we receive your completed skills recognition assessment, Recognise-IT will identify whether:

further assessment is required
or a qualification can be issued.

If further training and/or assessment is required, Recognise-IT will guide you through the additional assessment or recommend appropriate training.

Studying online does not mean learning in isolation. In fact, Recognise-IT encourages social learning through forums, chatrooms and emails.

In addition, Recognise-IT has a dedicated help-line where you can contact an assessor during normal office hours.
